Saturday morning. I feel so restless as the semester is about the end. Thank God for the Vocal Ensemble concert last night. They were great!! J I’m realy proud of my friends who are part of the choral (I didn’t even know that one of them would perform a solo…hehe J Congrats! You know who you are J). But then, I woke up late so I wasn’t able to attend another activity from our org. Still have a lot of things to do but I just have to post this entry. I just borrowed “The Simpsons: A Complete Guide to Our Favorite Family”, a comprehensive a guide of most of the episodes of the simpsons (Thank you very much!!..you know who you are..and I promise I will read your short story J) . Pasaway talaga. Instead of reading for my take-home exam, I opted to do this…making a list of the episodes that I can never forget.
8. Stark Raving Dad
Bart’s Board Note at the beginning of the episode:
I AM NOT A DENTIST
I AM NOT A DENTIST
Lisa’s Birthday Song
Lisa, it’s your birthday. God bless you this day.
You gave me a gift of a little sister and I’m proud of you today.
Lisa, it’s your birthday. Happy birthday Lisa.
I wish you love and goodwill. I wish you peace and joy.
I wish you better than your heart desires. And your first kiss from a boy.
Lisa, it’s your birthday. Happy birthday Lisa.
This is the episode where Home is placed in a mental institution where he met John Jay Smith. Hehe..I liked this episode because Michael Jackson dubbed the voice for John. I really admire his musical talent…inspite of his eccentricity. I also love the scene where Bart and Michael Jackson sings a duet for Lisa to make up for all the birthdays that Bart has taken for granted.
7. Lisa’s First Word
Bart’s Board Note at the beginning of the episode:
TEACHER IS NOT A LEPER
TEACHER IS NOT A LEPER
At the beginning of the episode, Homer tried to teach Maggie to say “Daddy”. Then Bart and Lisa were trying to recall their first word, never realizing that Lisa’s first word is “Bart”. Awww..at least they’ve had their moment as they unendlessly fight with each other as they grow up. But what I liked the most is the last part. Homer puts Maggie in her crib and gives a short talk of how happy he is that Maggie is there. As Homer left Maggie’s room, Maggie finally said her first word, “Daddy” J
6. Homer’s Barbershop Quartet
Bart’s Board Note at the beginning of the episode:
I WILL NEVER WIN AN EMMY
I WILL NEVER WIN AN EMMY
Baby on Board
Baby on board how I’ve adored
That sign on my car’s windowpane, bounce in my step
Loaded with pep, ‘cause I’m drivin’ in a carpool lane
Call me square friend, I don’t care
That little yellow sign can’t be ignored
I’m tellin’ you it’s mightly nice
Each trip’s a trip to paradise
With my baby on board
Homer, Principal Skinner, Apu, and Chief Wiggum (who was later on replaced by Barney) called themselves “The Be Sharps” J The group even won a grammy because they were really good J Who would have imagined Homer as the composer of the group? And of course, “Baby on Board” was the song that hit them to stardom. They had their moments of fun and fame but eventually, as everything else, they gradually died out. Sure they cannot always have the things that they want; but, at least, for quite some time..they’ve experienced something that made them happy. And that’s all the there is to it.
